Kevin Diss

16 December 2019 By Paul @ Golfing Herald

A profile picture of Kevin Diss

I first came across the work of Kevin Diss when Sunningdale Golf Club kindly granted me permission to use one of his photographs (of the 18th on the Old Course) from their website, with the condition that I provided accreditation for Kevin, which naturally I was more than happy to do. I was blown away by the composition, colours and artistry of the Sunningdale photograph and … [Read more...] about Kevin Diss

Golf Hole Names

28 October 2019 By Paul @ Golfing Herald

A view of the Boggle Hole (Photographer Steve Ilston), by kind permission of Bellingham Golf Club

Before launching Golfing Herald I had a myriad of ideas for possible articles, some of which have been realised over the past 10 months or so. One idea was to investigate, write and publish a trilogy of articles connected by a common theme, namely the factual information present on a Golf Scorecard, to be read as three individual pieces of work rather than a single piece. 19 September 2019 By Paul @ Golfing Herald

Former US President Bill Clinton playing at Ballybunion, Ireland, a few weeks before his visit to Harrogate, England

Clintons Surprise is an article based on events that really happened back in June 2001 which involved the 3rd hole at Rudding Park Golf Club (Harrogate, England), a wedding party and William Jefferson Clinton, the 42nd President of the United States of America...but where does one start? I know... I'm quite sad. Look at the facts. Double Maths and Physics at A-Level, read … [Read more...] about Clintons Surprise

ER Junior Championship

2 August 2019 By Paul @ Golfing Herald

A view of the 13th Green, by kind permission of Ganstead Park Golf Club

Since launching Golfing Herald just over 7 months ago, my virtual pen has travelled across the screen of my laptop to write numerous articles but this is the first occasion an article has been compiled and published following a very kind invite/suggestion. Let me explain... John Illingworth is the secretary of the East Riding Union of Golf Clubs (ERUGC) and back in May, … [Read more...] about ER Junior Championship
